The following privacy policy is intended to inform you in particular about the type, scope, purpose, duration, and legal basis for the processing of such data either under our own control or in conjunction with others. We also inform you below about the third-party components we use which may result in said third parties also processing data they collect and control.

In addition, the controller is obliged to inform all recipients to whom it discloses data of any such corrections, deletions, or restrictions placed on processing the same per Art. 16, 17 Para. 1, 18 GDPR. However, this obligation does not apply if such notification is impossible or involves a disproportionate effort. Nevertheless, users have a right to information about these recipients.

3) Information about the data processing

Contact

If you contact us via email or another form of communication, the data you provide will be used for the purpose of processing your request. We must have this data in order to process and answer your inquiry; otherwise we will not be able to answer it in full or at all.

The legal basis for this data processing is Art. 6 Para. 1 lit. b) GDPR.

Your data will be deleted once we have fully answered your inquiry and there is no further legal obligation to store your data, such as if an order or contract resulted therefrom.

Data

The app stores information related to you about the following on the device:

your club’s logbook data, cached so logging is quick at the dock and works offline, including on a shared boathouse tablet
app settings, including the selected theme The following data may be stored on our servers as well as on your devices:
your account identifier and email address, used for sign-in
your name and your role in the club (for example rower, cox, captain), so that crews and rosters make sense
the trips you log — the boat, the crew, the route, the distance, and the start and end times
the boats in the fleet, and any damage or maintenance reports members submit

The legal basis for this processing is Art. 6 Para. 1 lit. b) GDPR: we need this data in order to provide the app to you as agreed.

Erasure

Local Data

You may be able to delete all the local data associated with the app via the app/browser settings or tools of your operating system, depending on your browser and operating system.

Please note that for technical reasons - and this applies to any app - there may be residual data after a deletion.

Data on Our Servers

Your data processed when using our app will be deleted or blocked as soon as the purpose for its storage ceases to apply, provided the deletion of the same is not in breach of any statutory storage obligations or unless otherwise stipulated.

As with local data, a deletion here cannot be asserted as immediate and total: residual copies may remain for a time in backups and in system logs, until those are overwritten in the ordinary course of their rotation.

We may use third-party providers to provide the services of this app to you. Please refer to the “Service Providers” section for details.

We want to inform users of this app that these third parties have access to your personal information. However, they are obligated not to disclose or use the information for any other purpose.

Transfer to Third Countries

Data processing may also take place on servers outside the European Union (EU) or the European Economic Area (EEA).

In these cases, we ensure that appropriate safeguards (e.g., Standard Contractual Clauses of the EU Commission) are in place to guarantee an adequate level of data protection.

Web Analytics

If you allow it, we measure how this website is used so we can see which pages are helpful and notice when something is broken. This measurement is carried out for us by Vercel Web Analytics.

The measurement records:

the pages you open on this website and the order you open them in
the website that referred you here, if any
the campaign parameters in the link you followed (for example whether you came from a link we posted on a social network), if the link carried any
your approximate location at country level, your device type, operating system and browser
which buttons and links you activate on the page, and whether you scroll past half and nine tenths of it

No cookies are set. Visitors are counted using a hash that is derived from your request and replaced every day. We therefore cannot recognise you across different days.

The measurement works by running a script in your browser that sends information about your visit from your device, so it only starts once you agree to it in the banner shown on your first visit. The legal basis is your consent under section 165 Para. 3 TKG 2021 and Art. 6 Para. 1 lit. a) GDPR. If you decline, or leave without choosing, nothing is measured.

You can withdraw your consent at any time with effect for the future, as easily as you gave it: open the Analytics settings and choose “Decline”. From then on no measurement data is sent from your browser. The lawfulness of the measurement carried out until then is unaffected (Art. 7 Para. 3 GDPR). Because we cannot recognise you, your choice applies to the browser in which you make it. It is kept in that browser’s local storage under the name analytics-consent, only so that we can honour it without asking on every page. It is never sent to us and stays until you clear your browser data.

The hash is discarded when it is replaced, so after 24 hours at the latest the data can no longer be related to you; only aggregated statistics that permit no conclusions about individual visitors are kept beyond that point.

The processing might take place in the United States.

Where this involves a transfer outside the European Economic Area, it is safeguarded by the EU Commission Standard Contractual Clauses and the provider’s certification under the EU–US Data Privacy Framework.

We have concluded a data processing agreement with the provider in accordance with Art. 28 GDPR.

Cookies

Cookies are files with a small amount of data that are commonly used as anonymous unique identifiers. These are sent to your browser from the websites that you visit and are stored on your device’s internal memory.

This Service does not use these “cookies” explicitly. However, the app may use third party code and libraries that use “cookies” to collect information and improve their services. You have the option to either accept or refuse these cookies and know when a cookie is being sent to your device. If you choose to refuse these cookies, you may not be able to use some portions of this Service for technical reasons.

What the Logbook Does With Your Data

Your data is used to provide the logbook and the features built on it: the live board showing who is out, which boats are free and what needs repair; each rower’s season distance and the club leaderboard; and the fleet, roster and maintenance views used by captains and equipment managers.

Club Logbooks and Shared Visibility

Within your club, the information you contribute is visible to other members and administrators. That is the point of a shared logbook: a crew needs to know which boat went out and when it came back.

Deleting Your Account

Deleting your account removes your personal profile from the club’s logbook. As with any deletion, residual copies may remain for a time in backups and in system logs, until those are overwritten in the ordinary course of their rotation.

Trips you logged may remain in the club’s logbook in anonymised form, as part of the club’s own records of who used which boat.

Your club administrator can also help with roster changes.

4) Age Restriction

Many rowing clubs include junior members. Where a member is a minor, their club is responsible for obtaining any consent required under local law before adding them to the logbook.

5) Changes to This Privacy Policy

We reserve the right to update or change our privacy policy at any time and you should check this privacy policy periodically. Your continued use of the app after we post any modifications to the privacy policy on this page will constitute your acknowledgment of the modifications and your consent to abide and be bound by the modified privacy policy.
